We have been regular visitors to Greece for the last 35 years, and usually go there a couple of times a year.
Over the years we've visited Syros, Sifnos, Naxos, Crete, Symi, Rhodes, Karpathos and return regularly to Andros.
We've explored the Peloponnese, where Nafplio is a favourite.
We've been to the spectacular monasteries in the Meteora, and across a snowy mountain pass to Ioannina. We've visited amazing sites at Delphi, Corinth, Epidavros, Mycenae, Mystras and Monemvassia.
We've also spent lots of time in Athens, enjoying the amazing ancient sites as well as the excitement of the modern city. Recently we have also been exploring northern Greece with trips to Thessaloniki and one to Kavala.
This website is a way of putting together some of the things we've picked up along the way about Greece, and keeping track of information for ourselves.
It's a mix of restaurant reviews, our take on places we've visited, information on hotels and apartments we've stayed in, photos and various tips and suggestions.
Kate in particular is a keen walker and in some of the places we've visited we've also detailed some favourite walks.
We're not trying to give an exhaustive guide to travelling in Greece, or the ins and outs of how things work in Greece. We'd recommend Matt Barrett's site if you want excellent, detailed coverage of travelling in Greece.
We usually spend a couple of weeks in Athens over the Christmas period and we started this website during our visit in December 2009, and began by putting up information from this holiday.
The plan is to add other places as and when we have the time and inclination....
